This is my first time entering a Jam of any kind. My submission for the theme "An Awesome Discovery" depicts a spooky scene of a Witch discovering how to brew up a freaking awesome lollipop or something. ;) ;) ;)
I had a bit of a hard time coming up with an idea for this, but I knew I wanted it to be Halloween themed since tis the season, and I'm pretty happy with the result. The pumpkin background pattern was borrowed from 2bitcrook's Gameboy Background/Pattern Pack: https://2bitcrook.itch.io/gameboy-pattern-pack.
You can also download the rom file to view the art on an emulator/flash cart. When played in color mode, a purple/orange palette will be applied. I refined the palette colors so they look nice on real hardware, but a bit faded on emulators. Enjoy!

Eyyy thought I recognised that background, so glad to see it put to good use!
Love the final piece and that you went with double thick cartoony/comic lines. I'm always a sucker (fitting because of lollipops!) for that style of linework.
If I had to choose a favourite pallette it's a tough tie between the double orange or purple and orange!...Let's go with double orange, it's just so autumnal/halloweeny :D.
