The "New" Candy Quest moving forward!
Demo Version 3 sets the new standard for what Candy Quest is going to be moving forward. Nearly everything has been reworked, refined, and polished from the previous demo, I hope you enjoy it!
With this big of a leap forward in what has been completed, I can now say that as development continues, we'll finally be leaving the Fall Forest and start seeing what other worlds Candy Quest will have in store for us!

Overview
Candy Quest is a Halloween-themed platformer game for the Game Boy Color.
After being summoned by the Pumpking on Halloween night, the four Pumpkids set out on a quest to collect candy and light candles to perform a mysterious potion brewing ritual for their highness.
In this demo you’ll take control of PPK, (the Purple Pumpkid), and platform your way through the first world of Candy Quest, the Fall Forest. The Fall Forest features four main levels full of candy to collect, an additional bonus level with unique mechanics, and a big bad boss to defeat!

New Features

Here's the most notable stuff:
- 5 brand new levels to replace the previous ones. Each one (aside from Pumpkin Path, the first level) features unique mechanics/obstacles/enemies.
- A new gameplay HUD that shows your current health and candy within a level at all times.
- Updated level mechanics for dying, falling into pits, how you collect candy, etc.
- Redone visuals (sprites, backgrounds, and color palettes) for practically everything.
- A new, MUCH shorter story intro. (A lot of other slow junk has been updated/fixed/removed based on previous feedback.)

Updates Since Release
- Reduced all damage dealt to player to be 1 heart. (Down from 2 hearts.)
- Enabled dropping through platforms by jumping while holding down on a platform.
- Adjusted player death script in boss fight scene to attempt to fix a softlock.

That was fun! I like the hold b to highjump mechanic but would wish the "boo" attack only triggers on b released so i can load up my jump from the gorund without havoing to stand still a sec. Also I had some issues identifying the pumpkins as platforms I can stand on, that might be because im colorblind tho idk. Anyways, really fun and amazing graphics!
Might be too early to ask, but I can't resist: will you have a kickstarter campaign so we can have a physical copy of this bad boy in the future?
Not entirely sure how yet, but getting a physical copy is a part of the plan!

i'm in the same, i do pixelart, and work with gbstudio, but music is the bane of my existence, i wanted to ask you about the hud, but recently i saw a video tutoring about how to do it :P amazing game
